Ph.D./J.D. PDST Awards

In recent years, the Jurisprudence and Social Policy Ph.D. program has also been able to offer some financial support for students who are pursuing a concurrent J.D. and a Ph.D. at Berkeley Law, in order to help offset the cost of Professional Degree Supplemental Tuition (PDST). Priority is given to those who have not previously received any financial support from JSP for their J.D. degree. Please be aware that funding for these awards is not guaranteed, and the total amount available may fluctuate from year to year.

In AY 2021-2022, all admitted students were awarded a 5-year funding package covering tuition and fees along with $34,000 per year.

Selznick Fellowship: coverage of tuition & fees, $34,000 stipend

Eligible Out-of-State students must apply for CA residency during Year 1
