1) Undergraduate Women in Law
Undergraduate Women in Law
A new student organization at Berkeley: Undergraduate Women in Law (UWILB).

Undergraduate Women in Law embodies a spirit of empowerment and advocacy for pre-law women. Our goal is to serve as a pivotal platform for fostering not just a supportive network, but a true community where aspiring female legal professionals can connect, collaborate, and cultivate their interests.

We are building an organization that offers:

  • Networking events with women in the legal field and current Berkeley Law students,

  • Workshops designed to enhance your resume, interview skills, and overall professional skills,

  • Philanthropic efforts such as campus clean ups and fundraising for local support. In the past we have donated books to the Prisoners Literature Project and fundraised for the Women's Cancer Resource Center,

By creating an inclusive space for women to share experiences and navigate the often male-dominated pre-law world, UWILB seeks to promote gender equity and inspire the next generation of women leaders in law.

6) French!
French!
Hello/ Bonjour! Greetings from the French Department and welcome to Fall'25!
If you're thinking of a career that involves work in the US, Europe, Asia or Africa, French is very useful to have as a second language. International companies, organizations and government entities typically tend to hire candidates who speak additional languages.  Berkeley's French language classes are fun, and you will quickly attain a surprising level of proficiency!
Trending near you: #FRENCH_1
French 1 allows you to start learning the language with no prior knowledge of it! We start from the ABCs and grow multiple skills involving topics from French-speaking cultures, while studying primary sources (texts, images, films and more!) in a fun and collaborative environment.
French is a Discovery Department! Come learn the language and work on your research skills, ask questions that are of genuine interest to you, and engage in creativity and student-led campus resources.  Go Bears!
If you speak another Romance language or want to enhance your knowledge of Latin, please consider signing up for French 1R: French For Speakers of Spanish and Other Romance Languages.  This course is an equivalent of 2 semesters, allowing you to accelerate your skills while integrating knowledge of other Romance Languages and Latin.
For details, or if you already speak some French, please see the attached poster and let me know if you have any questions! I am here to help you select a course:)
The ability to speak French and English is a significant advantage on the international job market!
We look forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,
Vesna Rodic, French Department
