Brianne Felsher (they/them) is a PhD Student in Jurisprudence and Social Policy and a 3L in Berkeley Law. Their focus is on the legal history of queer family law: they are interested in how queer people shaped the development of family law, and how queer people formed the families they wanted. They are generally interested in the intersection of queer history and legal history. They are currently working on a project about an 1880s child custody case involving a gender nonconforming aunt seeking custody for her child. They are also working on a bigger project on nineteenth and early twentieth century queer family.
