The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, September 25, 2024 by 11:59 PM ET, but we encourage you to submit before that deadline. In recognition of the various paths undergraduates may take to study law, we welcome submissions of research articles, senior theses, and essays embracing a wide range of topics and viewpoints related to the field of law. Undergraduate students in any major, track, or class year should feel free to send us their work. Visit https://www.culawreview.org to view past journals or to read our mission statement.
Submissions must be double-spaced in Microsoft Word .doc or .docx format, follow Chicago style citations, and include endnotes and a Works Cited section. Although we do not have a strict length limitation, the majority of published pieces range from 15 to 20 pages (excluding references). Longer papers should be shortened to fit this page length recommendation before submission, and excessive length or brevity may affect acceptance.
In the document, please also include the following information:
-
Your name
-
Current email address and phone number
-
College/University and year of graduation
-
Title
-
250-word abstract

Please submit your article on our website under the "Submit" tab. Feel free to reach out to Jinoo Kim (jak2321@columbia.edu) or Kira Ratan (kbr2126@columbia.edu) with any questions or concerns.
On behalf of UC Berkeley Visitor Services, we are excited to invite you to apply to become a Campus Ambassador!
Every year, Campus Ambassadors welcome over 135,000 visitors to UC Berkeley's campus from around the world. At the time of hiring, new ambassadors do not need to have extensive knowledge of the university nor exceptional public speaking skills as all new ambassadors in our fall 2024 new hire class will complete formalized, paid training during the fall and spring semesters. When training concludes, our ambassadors lead walking tours, serve guests at the Koret Visitor Center and the Campanile, and staff major campus events such as Cal Day and Homecoming. With the opportunity to impact prospective students and families, school groups, alumni, donors, and other guests, this flexible campus job is regarded by our ambassadors as one of the most rewarding opportunities on campus.
The application is now LIVE at visit.berkeley.edu/become-campus-ambassador and is due on Friday, September 13th by 10 pm PT. Please consider joining us for one of our upcoming information sessions to learn more about the opportunity and hiring process!

My name is Ali Dunleavy and I'm an organizer with CALPIRG Students on campus.
CALPIRG Students is the organization here at UC Berkeley working to fight plastic pollution, address food insecurity, and help get our campus registered to vote. As an update, we won the 2020 American Climate Leadership Award for working with the UCs to go 100% clean electricity. This Fall, we are working to protect some of our oldest trees in the country. Old-growth forests are home to lots of amazing critters like owls and black bears, and are critical for avoiding the worst impacts of climate change - but currently lack protections on federal land. We shouldn't cut down our oldest forests for lumber. That’s why we are organizing support from thousands of individuals throughout the state to call on Biden to protect our oldest forests by the end of his term.
APPLY NOW: Get involved to protect forests or turn out the vote on campus!
CALPIRG Students is a student organization on campus that works to protect the environment, make college more affordable, and promote civic engagement. Last elections we helped nearly 10,000 students register to vote in California and got the UCs to release a new policy to phase out single-use plastics to protect our oceans! Sign up here to get involved!
As an intern or volunteer with CALPIRG you can:
-
Save our oldest forests
-
Turn out the vote this election
-
Bring down the cost of textbooks
-
Protect wildlife like whales and sea otters
-

Explore how to critically and effectively engage in poverty action through the Global Poverty & Practice (GPP) Minor!
The GPP Minor gives students from majors across campus an understanding of the frameworks, methods, and practical skills necessary to address poverty and inequality, both locally and globally. There are five course requirements for the Minor - 3 core courses and 2 electives. One course may overlap with your major requirements and several of the courses fulfill campus breadth requirements.
The courses help students prepare for and reflect on a "Practice Experience" in which they intern or volunteer with local or international NGOs, government agencies, health clinics, social enterprises, or other poverty or development programs. Students study and work on critical issues such as environmental justice, community health, affordable housing, education, labor rights, and economic development. GPP Advisors guide students on identifying a practice experience that is relevant to your skills and interests, and funding is available to support your experience.
The deadline to declare the minor this semester is October 14th. There are no prerequisites required to declare.
The Declaration Form and additional information about the minor can be found at: http://blumcenter.berkeley.edu/gppminor.
Information Sessions about the minor will be held at the following times:
Thursday, September 5th, 5-6 pm in Blum Hall B100 A/B
Friday, September 13th, 12-1pm in Blum Hall B100 A/B
Wednesday, October 2nd, 5-6pm on Zoom
Thursday, October 10th, 4-5 pm on ZoomContact gppminor@berkeley.edu with any questions.
We’d be very appreciative if you can share this opportunity with your campus and student networks. A flier is attached and our list of courses can be found here, with topics spanning political science to architecture to comparative literature.
