Berkeley Undergraduate Journal - Paper Submission Fall 2023

Looking for a chance to publish your excellent work? Please consider working with Berkeley Undergraduate Journal to share your research and writing. As Cal's oldest undergraduate research journal for the social sciences and humanities, BUJ publishes carefully reviewed and edited scholarly work from the humanities and social sciences on the University of California’s eScholarship website, highlighting the strength of undergraduate scholarship on the UC Berkeley campus from a variety of disciplines. 

To submit your paper, please follow the guidelines listed on our website  The deadline for Fall 2023 paper submission is Monday, October 9th. If you have questions regarding paper submission, please contact our staff advisor Keila Diehl (kdiehl@berkeley.edu).

Charles H. Percy Undergraduate Grant for Public Affairs Research
The Institute of Governmental Studies will award up to four research grants in the amount of $500 each to UC Berkeley undergraduate students who are conducting research on an aspect of American politics, including public opinion, electoral behavior, civic participation, government institutions, social movements, and public policy. We encourage students from all majors to apply. More information about eligibility and requirements can be found on our website.

Earn a semester of credits. Live and study and intern in the Capital to experience working in government offices and centers focused on legislation, health care, housing, the environment, voting rights, womens' rights, and many other governmental social services.
