The SLC Strategic Learning Program is excited to announce that we are hiring Peer Academic Coaches for Fall 2024!
We are looking for undergraduate students who are passionate about the learning process and committed to supporting their peers in achieving their academic goals. By becoming a Peer Academic Coach, students can not only assist their fellow learners but also refine their own learning strategies, deepen their understanding of the neuroscience of learning, and broaden their professional skill sets.

University of Ghana (Fall, Spring & Year)
The University of Ghana consistently ranks in the top 10 universities of Africa. Its variety of colleges can accommodate students from just about any UC major. On campus, you may find research projects and collaborations tackling some of the most pressing global problems of our time: malaria, climate change, food production, development, and poverty. Among its research centers, you can find medical research, tropical pharmacology, population studies, environmental studies, and economics. Located just 10 miles from Ghana’s capital Accra, the university is UCEAP’s most long-standing partnership in Africa. South Africa
University of Cape Town (Fall & Spring)
The University of Cape Town (UCT) is the number one university in Africa and host to the largest study abroad program in the country. American University in Cairo (Fall, Spring & Year)
Living in Cairo is an unforgettable experience, and this program is ideal for students interested in history, public policy, Arabic language, Middle Eastern studies, and global affairs. Studying at the American University in Cairo represents one of the best opportunities to experience Egyptian and Middle Eastern culture while earning academic credit. What sets this program apart is the historic region, access to world-class university facilities, and the opportunity to explore ancient sites, and highly approachable, supportive faculty. All courses are taught in English (except for the Arabic language classes), and a dedicated team is available to support students adjusting to living in Egypt.
Jordan
Advanced Arabic Language (Fall & Spring) Experience the modern Middle East while becoming fluent in Arabic. Designed for those with advanced language skills in Arabic, students take a combination of courses taught entirely in Arabic. Courses include Arabic poetry, contemporary Arab media, and introduction to Islam. Optional Directed Independent Research opportunities are available as part of your course load.
Middle East Studies (Fall & Spring) You’ll take courses at the Amman Study Center located in one of the city’s older neighborhoods. Just down the street is the University of Jordan where you can study and meet Jordanian students. Designed for students interested in learning or improving their Arabic and taking elective courses related to the region taught in English. There is no language requirement for this program. Optional Directed Independent Research or Internships are available as part of your course load.
