1) P/NP Deadline 3/22
P/NP Deadline 3/22
This Friday 3/22, the end of week ten, is the deadline to change grading option in CalCentral.
Use this option sparingly.
Usually students who change to P/NP end up doing much better in the class than they thought they would and really wished they hadn't changed to P/NP.

Once you change to P/NP, you cannot change it back.
If you miss the P/NP deadline, and you still want to change to P/NP, you will have to use one of your two Late Change of Class Schedule options.
Admissions committees would rather see a letter grade on your transcript than a P.
My advice is to keep your classes for a letter grade unless you know you're going to get an F at this point.

2) Ddln to Sign up to Walk
Ddln to Sign up to Walk
Last Friday was the deadline to sign up to walk in the Legal Studies ceremony and get two free tickets.
We'll keep the form open in case you didn't sign up yet and still want to walk.
We need everyone to sign up who is coming so we can:
- Know how many students are coming
- Get an estimate of how many guests might attend
- Get your name in the program
Thanks!
The ticket office hasn't set up the purchase link yet, but when they do, I'll let you know.

Study on 'Grading at Cal'
Dear students,

The Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) at UC Berkeley is conducting a research study to understand how our undergraduate students perceive the grading practices used by instructors in their courses, as well as their general feelings towards grades.

If you are interested in participating in a one-time student focus group to discuss grading at UC Berkeley, please complete the following consent form and screening survey: https://berkeley.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eljy8CQ0k0WtnhA. If selected, a member of the research team will contact you to confirm your participation. Focus groups will be designed to ensure participants represent the diversity of social identities, academic interests, and demographics of the undergraduate study body.

Participation in this screening survey will take approximately 5 minutes, while those selected to participate in the focus group can expect to commit an additional 60 minutes (1 hour) across the entire semester.

Refreshments will be provided during the scheduled focus groups. Moreover, focus group participants will receive a $25 Berkeley Bucks gift card. However, there is no compensation for completing this initial survey.

There are very minimal risks to participants involved in this research. Participation in all parts of this study including the focus group is confidential and any data generated in this study will be anonymized and/or reported in aggregate.

If you have any questions or concerns to report about this study, please contact Melissa Ko (mesako@berkeley.edu) or the Center for Teaching & Learning (teaching@berkeley.edu).
