Speaker: Professor Saru Jayaraman
Professor Saru Jayaraman is the President of One Fair Wage, Director of the Food Labor Research Center at the University of California, Berkeley, and Professor at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy. After 9/11, together with displaced World Trade Center workers, she co-founded the Restaurant Opportunities Center (ROC), which grew into a national movement of restaurant workers, employers, and consumers. She then launched One Fair Wage as a national campaign to end all subminimum wages in the United States. We hope you’ll join us to hear Professor Jayaraman speak with us about minimum wage reform, workers' rights, and how One Fair Wage has been able to use organizing and community involvement to reshape the discussion around fair compensation of some of America’s most vulnerable workers.
