The Chancellor sent out a message last week about the General Commencement to Fa20, Sp21, Su21 degree candidates.
If you are on one of these degree lists, did not receive her message, and you haven’t told me yet that you haven’t received it, please let me know.
The Chancellor will be sending out a new message 4/6, so look out for that.

Event 1: Know Your Rights Week (April 19-24)
Phi Alpha Delta’s Philanthropy Committee will host its semesterly Know Your Rights Week From April 19th-24th. Please visit Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity at UC Berkeley on Facebook leading up to the event for full details!
- LGBTQ+ Rights: In an hour-long conversation, we will be discussing LGBTQ+ rights as related to Title IX in higher education institutions and eventual discrimination in the workplace for LGBTQ+ adults. We plan to highlight the trans youth’s experience in sports, and we welcome guests of all backgrounds!
- Criminal Justice Reform: We will host a Criminal Justice Panel consisting of UC Berkeley Faculty and local advocacy groups. We will discuss some of the major systemic issues plaguing our criminal justice system, how COVID-19 has highlighted and exacerbated the inequity within the Criminal Justice System, the controversies surrounding plea bargains and the use of bail, and the lack of resources for public defenders.
- Women’s Rights: Through a social media campaign and a presentation with guest speakers, we will focus on providing resources for and discussing sexual assault on campus and in the workplace. See you there!
Event 2: Law School Admissions Panel (4/7)
On April 7th, Phi Alpha Delta’s Legal Events and Planning Committee will be having administrative personnel from UC Davis School of Law, Berkeley Law, and Loyola School of law to answer some of the most important questions undergraduate students have about law school admissions. We will take questions from students through our Instagram story. More schools to be announced soon!

4) Be a Peer Advisor
Be a Peer Advisor
Peer Advisors serve in an integral role at the Career Center, as they are the first point of contact for all who enter our department and serve as ambassadors for the Career Center all over campus!
Working directly with and supervised by two staff Career Counselors, Peer Advisors are trained to be extremely knowledgeable about Career Center services, counseling techniques, and will assist students through providing daily customer service in the Career Center, one-to-one service, and conducting workshops.

Culturally Immersive Courses
Please help us spread the word about these exciting immersive courses offered in summer 2021 in collaboration with Berkeley Study Abroad! These virtual courses are unique from traditional online courses in that they are focused on experiential learning through interaction with international local communities in a virtual setting. There are no additional “program fees” for students to attend these courses, only summer tuition and fees associated with summer enrollment.
NOTE: These courses cannot be used towards the Legal Studies major requirements.
