3) Letter Graded Req's
Letter Graded Req's
All courses used to fulfill Legal Studies major requirements must be taken for a letter grade, even if you take those at a Community College or Study Abroad or UCDC.
You can think of it this way, you need to maintain a minimum prereq gpa of 2.0 and a minimum upper div gpa of 2.0 for the major.
A 'P' doesn't carry grade points.

5) P/NP Deadline
P/NP Deadline
The deadline to change a class to or from P/NP (Pass/Not Pass) is Friday, October 31st.
Use this option sparingly.
Admissions committees will want to see letter grades rather than a P.
Remember that law schools view an NP as an F in your application gpa.

Remember that law schools view an NP as an F in your application gpa.
Only change a class to P/NP if you absolutely know that you will earn a P.
A C- minus or higher is required to earn a P.
Do not change a class (especially a Legal Studies requirement) to P/NP if you think you're going to earn anything lower than an A. That would be a complete waste and not advised.
Students must earn grade points each semester or will be considered not making progress towards the degree and will automatically be put on academic notice.
Sometimes students will switch all classes to P/NP which is what will result in being put on academic notice.
